Module 1: Foundations, Attacker Mindset & Lab Setup
Everyone starts at the same level: the vocabulary of risk, how attacks unfold, what is legal, and how a safe, isolated virtual lab is designed. You will learn to review a lab design for isolation before any practice begins.

What you will learn
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Build a clear grasp of what is allowed and describe a working, isolated lab design.
- Calculate and rank risk using likelihood and impact from a supplied risk register.
- Map an incident timeline to kill chain stages and ATT&CK technique ids.
- Audit a virtual lab inventory and identify isolation, snapshot and data-sharing weaknesses.
Before you start
None. A signed ethics and acceptable-use agreement is expected before any practical work.
